Are You Ready for a Relationship?

Wanting a relationship and having room for one are two completely different things.

You'll probably like these too

About this test

Feeling ready for a relationship has almost nothing to do with wanting one. The wanting can come from a Sunday that was too quiet, a wedding you're attending alone, an ex who rebuilt faster than expected. Availability is measured differently: by the actual room a person could occupy in your weeks, and by what you expect that room to do for you.

This test looks at four things. Your concrete availability: time, energy, a life that isn't already filled to the brim. Your relationship to the past: a story that's been put away doesn't need to be forgotten, it just needs to stop making decisions for you. Your autonomy: being genuinely fine alone is what lets you love without demanding. And your clarity: being able to say what you want saves three months of polite misunderstanding.

The score hands out neither gold stars nor black marks. A low score describes a moment rather than a person, and moments change far faster than characters do.

How it works

Every answer is worth zero to four points, and the total is scaled to 100. The highest points go to answers that describe an autonomous life, a tidied past and genuine free room — not to the most enthusiastic answers. Two people equally in love can land at opposite ends of this scale.
